In 2019 vond het festival plaats in het pand aan de Batterijstraat 48 en een aantal locaties in het centrum van Maastricht, in het Statenkwartier en het Sphinxkwartier. Winternights presenteert work-in-progress van de talenten uit de podiumkunsten van vandaag, de voorhoede van morgen: ‘onaffe’ projecten van a-typische makers, kunstenaars wiens werk zich niet zomaar laat vatten door de geijkte disciplines. Choreografen, theatermakers, performers, componisten, filmmakers en beeldend kunstenaars, allen ontwikkelen via gedurfde projecten een nieuwe vormentaal en mixen performance, installatiekunst, dans en theater.
Welkom
18 makers gaan er werk presenteren, toetsen en testen, pitchen en met het publiek in gesprek. Het historische pand in de Batterijstraat vormde dat jaar het decor van Winternights. Verschillende ruimtes in en om het Statenkwartier en het Sphinxkwartier richtten we in als presentatieplekken, ateliers, pitchpodia, bars, hangout of dansvloer.

Tijdens de openingsavond werden de Hustinx Stimuleringsprijzen 2019 uitgereikt aan film- en theaterregisseur Luca Meisters, interdisciplinair theatermaker Jelle Stiphout en cellist Paul Stavridis.

In 2019, the festival took place in the building at Batterijstraat 48 and a number of locations in the center of Maastricht, in the Statenkwartier and the Sphinxkwartier. Winternights presents work-in-progress of the talents from the performing arts of today, the vanguard of tomorrow: "unfinished" projects by atypical makers, artists whose work is not easily captured by the traditional disciplines. Choreographers, theater makers, performers, composers, filmmakers and visual artists, all develop a new formal language through daring projects and mix performance, installation art, dance and theater.
Welcome
18 makers will present work, assess and test, pitch and talk to the audience. The historic building in the Batterijstraat formed the backdrop for Winternights that year. We set up various spaces in and around the Statenkwartier and the Sphinxkwartier as presentation areas, studios, pitch stages, bars, hangouts or dance floors.

During the opening night, the Hustinx Stimulation Awards 2019 were presented to film and theater director Luca Meisters, interdisciplinary theater maker Jelle Stiphout and cellist Paul Stavridis.
