Noah Janssen studeerde in 2022 af aan de Toneelacademie Maastricht als regisseur. Hij maakt speels en absurdistisch werk rondom de onbeholpenheid van de mens. Samen met zijn spelers en medemakers creëert hij theater rondom mensen of dingen die proberen door te krabbelen. Hij woont op een boot in Rotterdam op en heeft een bijbaan als fietsenmaker. Naast het theaterwerk dat hij maakt, coacht hij andere makers, geeft wel eens les of staat zelf op de vloer. Sinds 2025 is hij onderdeel van Makerscollectief Makita.
Noahs werk is voornamelijk beeldend. Afwisselend maakt hij dat samen met professionals of amateurs, in het theater of op locatie, voor volwassenen maar sinds kort ook voor jeugd. De eerste versie van het werk op Winternights, ‘De mond’ (werktitel), werd gecreerd bij LAB Oost en Theatergroep De horde. Met ‘De mond’ onderzoekt Noah of zijn theater ook de onvolwassenen aanspreekt.

Noah Janssen graduated as a director from the Maastricht Academy of Performing Arts in 2022. He creates playful, absurdist work centered on human awkwardness. Together with his performers and collaborators, he creates theater about people—or things—trying to muddle through. He lives on a boat in Rotterdam and works part-time as a bicycle mechanic. In addition to creating theater, he coaches other artists, occasionally teaches, and sometimes performs himself. He has been a member of the artist collective Makita since 2025.
Noah’s work is primarily visual in nature. He creates it in various settings—collaborating with either professionals or amateurs, working in theaters or on location, and producing work for adults as well as, more recently, for young audiences. The initial version of the piece presented at Winternights, *De mond* (working title), was developed in collaboration with LAB Oost and Theatergroep De Horde. With *De mond*, Noah explores whether his theater also resonates with younger audiences.
