Sachit Ajmani is componist en pianist, oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit India, en wordt sinds 2025 ondersteund door Via Zuid voor een artistieke residentie met Intro in Situ. In zijn werk creëert hij muziektheater dat zich afspeelt in futuristische werelden, waarin thema’s als isolatie en vervreemding centraal staan.
Zijn huidige onderzoek richt zich op de fundamentele relatie tussen beweging, tijd en leven: bewegen betekent leven, stilstaan betekent dood zijn. Geïnspireerd door Einsteins theorieën over tijdsdilatatie stelt hij de vraag: “Hoe zou het universum eruitzien voor een foton?”
Rond deze gedachte ontwikkelt hij een voorstelling waarin twee astronauten een reis ondernemen die voorbij het menselijke begrip gaat — een tocht waarin ze de tijd recht in de ogen kijken en uiteindelijk de essentie van het bestaan zelf confronteren.

Sachit Ajmani is a composer and pianist, originally from India, and has been supported by Via Zuid since 2025 for an artistic residency with Intro in Situ. In his work, he creates musical theater set in futuristic worlds, centered on themes of isolation and alienation.
His current research focuses on the fundamental relationship between movement, time, and life: movement means life, standing still means death. Inspired by Einstein's theories of time dilation, he poses the question: "What would the universe look like to a photon?"
Based on this idea, he develops a performance in which two astronauts undertake a journey beyond human understanding—a journey in which they stare time straight in the eye and ultimately confront the essence of existence itself.
